In the Western world, the most popular form of yoga is Hatha Yoga, a form of yoga that
stresses mastery of the physical body as a gateway to attaining spiritual perfection. Today most Americans practice
Hatha Yoga for the unique sense of health and well-being it provides, without reference to its spiritual content. Even
so, Hatha Yoga is not an ordinary stretching and toning exercise. The focus and discipline provide a sense of inner
as well as outer balance. Modern medicine is busy researching the extraordinary health benefits produced by this 8,000
year old practice.
Bikram's 26 Hatha Yoga postures systematically move fresh, oxygenated blood to 100% of your
body, to each organ and fiber, restoring systems to healthy working order, just as Nature intended. Proper weight, muscle
tone, glowing complexion, boundless energy, vibrant good health, and a sense of well-being will automatically follow.
The routine of Bikram Yoga is dynamic and exhilarating. The room is intentionally warm so that your muscles will stretch
more easily. The series works equally as well for beginning as well as advanced students.
